Care Guide
HOW TO CLEAN CAST IRON
Avoid frequent washing—simply rinse with water and wipe clean. Dry thoroughly, preferably on the stove, and apply oil.
For odors from beef or fish, scrub with salt or wash with mild soap, then dry and reapply oil. In extreme cases, use steel wool and mild soap, but note that this removes seasoning, which must be restored by frying 2-3 times.
Always oil the cookware after washing to prevent rust and store it in a dry place.
HOW TO SEASON CAST IRON
- Clean – Wash with warm water and mild soap, scrub if needed, rinse, and dry completely.
- Preheat Oven – Set to 350-400°F (175-200°C).
- Apply Oil – Coat the entire cookware lightly with vegetable, flaxseed, or canola oil.
- Bake – Place upside down in the oven for 1-2 hours; use foil on the lower rack to catch drips.
- Cool & Repeat – Let it cool in the oven; repeat seasoning for a stronger non-stick layer.
- Maintain – Clean with hot water (avoid soap), dry well, and apply oil after each use.
Proper care ensures durability, non-stick performance, and a lifetime of cooking excellence.
